About the Speaker.
Janeth J. Colina is part of the Nutrition Team of Insta-Pro International (based in Grimes, Iowa. United States) a global leader in the manufacture of extrusion and pressing equipment for processing oilseeds and grains for the feed and food industries. She works as an Applied Nutrition Technologist since 2018 supporting customers to build their businesses and optimize their feed and food by providing innovative, science-based extrusion processing solutions. In addition, she conducts research studies with university and industry collaborators to maximize quality of feed and food and advises how to formulate diets with extruded products to improve animal performance for better utilization of available nutrients. She earned her DVM (Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine) in Venezuela in 1992 and attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln from 1998 to 2003 earning her Master of Science and PhD in Animal Science with focus on swine nutrition. Prior to joining to Insta-Pro, Janeth was a Professor in Animal Science at Universidad Central de Venezuela for 23 years. She taught animal science, animal nutrition, nutrition feed resources management, production systems with monogastric animals, and feed resources for animal production in hot humid conditions. She also counseled veterinary college graduates, graduated students in Animal Science Programs, developed and successfully concluded six main projects as principal researcher and three projects as co-researcher. In addition, Janeth conducted research on amino acid utilization and nutritional evaluation of ingredients for animal feeding and published in specialized journals as main author and co-author. She enjoys sharing her experience with others, learning from others and working in a team environment.
