Service/R&D Technician

The Service/R&D Technician position will be located at our Grimes, Iowa Headquarters and will report to the Start-Up Manager. This position will perform on-site start-ups/service calls at customer locations, assist in our R&D center, and assemble our equipment.

The right candidate should be able to effectively work in a team environment, have strong communication and mechanical skills, and be willing to travel both domestically and internationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Perform start-up and service calls to extruder plants ensuring the equipment is operating properly.
-Inspect installation of production line including electrical connections, transitions, layout, etc.
-Train/re-train customer operators on correct procedures when operating/maintaining equipment.
-Provide customer support by resolving extruder owner/operator questions by phone and email.
-Maintain customer relationships by following up periodically with customers to ensure equipment is operating at optimum performance.
-Advises visitors and extruder prospects on Insta-Pro equipment in conjunction with sales team.
-Prepares activity and trip reports once start-up/service call is complete.
-Assist in operating the R&D equipment including the extruder, horizontal press and auxiliary equipment.
-Assist with maintaining the equipment as necessary to keep in proper working condition.
-Assist with demonstrations of equipment operation and production of end product for visitors and prospective clients.
-Assemble equipment per specifications.
-Operate various power, pneumatic, and hand tools.

REQUIREMENTS

-Must be authorized to work in the United States.
-High School Diploma or equivalent required.
-Mechanical background/abilities required.
-General electrical knowledge preferred.
-Welding experience a plus.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
-Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time.
-Must be willing to travel internationally.
