Conducting business during Coronavirus outbreak

Just like most companies out there, Insta-Pro has had to make many adjustments recently due to the threat of the Coronavirus.  We have had tradeshows postponed, customers postponing travel to visit us, and in general, delays in everyday business.

So, what can we do to keep our business running normally as much as possible?  We do a lot of face-to-face meetings with our customers, so we have increased our use of videoconferencing.   There are many videoconference software companies out there to choose from.  Here are a few I have used in the past:

  1. Go-to-Meeting
  2. Microsoft Teams
  3. Zoom
  4. Skype

All of them have their advantages and disadvantages. Skype is Free, but limited in features, where Go-To-Meeting is a monthly subscription, but with many features, including video conferencing and screen-sharing, which is very valuable for presenting proposals or educational material to a prospective or current customer.

At Insta-Pro, we use Microsoft Teams, which is no cost if you have Office 365. Our sales, service, nutrition, or engineering team can share our screen with you to review information.

And don’t forget the old telephone.  You can always pick up the phone and give your customers a call and discuss business, the weather, or even talk about the Coronavirus.

At some point, hopefully sooner rather than later, the outbreak will subside, and business will go back to normal.  In the meantime, do the best you can with the technology you currently have available to connect with your customers.
