4 Ways to Ship, Do You Know What Method Is Best For You?

For many of us, it has become routine to order almost anything we want online and find a package on our doorway a few days later.  Here is how ordering your parts from Insta-Pro can be just as simple.

Reach out to our parts department or your salesperson to request a quote for the parts you need.  We’ll review your request to make sure they are specific parts for your equipment and advise if we recommend any additions or changes and lead time so you can plan accordingly.

There are four primary methods of transporting goods that affect delivery time:

Courier (less than 150 pounds/65 kgs) – Courier companies such as DHL or UPS will deliver right to your door.    They may ask you to prepay any duties or taxes (if applicable) prior to delivery.  Transit time is usually between 4-8 days, depending on your location.

Truck Freight (over 100 pounds/45kgs) – used primarily in the United States and Canada  The shipments are crated or bound to a skid for maximum protection.  Since Insta-Pro is uniquely located in the middle of the United States along two main interstate corridors, transit times to anywhere within the U.S. are typically between 2-4 business days.

Air Freight (over 50 pounds/23kgs) – Air freight companies such as DHL Global Forwarding or UPS Supply Chain Solutions will deliver to a main international airport in the destination country.  The customer can arrange and pay for delivery from the airport to their door using the local agent. Transit time is typically 5-9 business days.

Ocean Freight – depending on the size of your order, ocean freight is usually the least expensive shipping option.  Your freight is consolidated into a container with freight from other shippers going to the same destination port.  Transit times will vary greatly depending on the destination, but are usually 45-65 days from the date it ships from Insta-Pro.

Insta-Pro will always reach out to more than one carrier to find and quote the best available price.  We can quote more than one freight option if you are trying to compare costs vs. the transit time.

Once an order ships, we send our international customers a copy of the shipment number and customs paperwork.  This allows you to track the progress of your shipment throughout the process.

Please know that our parts and export departments have many years of experience and can help you navigate any questions or concerns you may have.
